Peaceful neighbourhood necessary for Pakistan

I am a Civil Engineer by qualification. During our graduation we were taught about the levels of earthquakes in a subject of geo-technical engineering. Earthquake intensity is expressed in Richter scale. An earthquake falling in the range of 7.0 – 7.9 on Richter scale is termed as catastrophic.

25th of September 2013 can be termed as a black day in the history of Baluchistan province when district Awaran was hit by an earthquake of intensity 7.8 (Richter scale). More than 300 people, including women and children, lost their lives as result of this 8 second long severe earthquake. People of the area witnessed emerging of a new island type structures in the Arabian Sea near the port of Gwadar.

After the earthquake, rescue services were started immediately by the federal and provincial governments, with the cooperation of Pakistan Army. However the most alarming thing noticed was the attack on helping Army helicopter by using rocket launchers. Independence fighters in Baluchistan province are getting foreign support from India and Afghanistan who want to destabilise Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif It has recent meeting with his Indian counterpart Mr. Manmohan Singh in New York has elevated this issue. Later Pakistani government has provided proofs of Indian interference in Baluchistan to the Indian authorities.

Pakistan is always blamed for harbouring the terrorists on its lands. India is always doing the false propaganda against our country in this regard. However if we just review true situation of the area, we would realise that countries having their borders with India are facing problems. India is having issues with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and China. India is supporting the Baluchistan Liberation Army through Afghanistan where it has opened so many consulates, which are not required at all. Purpose is to provide ammunition to the anti-government terrorists in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s biggest media group Jang has been trying its best to bring peace between the two neighbouring countries and with the cooperation of an Indian media group ‘Times of India’ it launched a campaign ‘Aman Ki Asha’ (hope of peace). Recently both groups arranged a dialogue between the senior politicians and army personnel from both countries on TV screens. Indian panel spoke very rudely and targeted Hafiz Saeed, who was released by the Supreme Court of Pakistan after finding that there was nothing against him for which he could be kept behind the bars. Seasoned politician Sheikh Rashid Ahmed handled tough allegations from Indian participants quite smartly.

Some days back (as reported by Times of India on July 14, 2013) the former Indian home ministry officer and investigator Satish Verma disclosed that “incumbent government orchestrated and pre-planned terror attacks on its own parliament (December 13, 2001) and carnage in Mumbai (November 26, 2008)” creating terror, mayhem and pandemonium, killing hundreds of innocent people in cold blood. Pak-China friendship

After knowing such things we must be clear about the Indian intentions about bringing peace in the area. Pakistani government should not shake hand with India or Afghanistan who are our enemies. We must revive our terms with China, Iran and Bangladesh so that we could tackle with the international issues with their support. This will also help in maintaining balance of power in the region. We can arrange trainings for our law enforcing agencies with the help of Chinese and Iranian governments. We can also make sure that on all international forums we have a united voice which will definitely have a sound impact.

Now this is the time that we should ban showing of Indian movies in our cinemas. For this government must invest in the Pakistani film industry and help it to establish once again. More incentives should be announced for the businessmen for constructing cinemas and theatre halls. Similarly all cinemas must be given tax relief for at least two years so that they could happily exhibit our own films. By promoting our own culture we’ll bring a sense of patriotism in our people. Pakistani artists will also be able to support their families after getting work.

Pakistan Zindabad!!!
