Farooq Naek reveals PPP intentions

Farooq Naek - Pak Law Minister

Farooq Naek - Pak Law Minister

Yesterday (4th August 2008 ) was a very important day for the future of Pakistani government. PML-N Leader Nawaz Sharif held internal meeting with his party’s executive members about the future likelyhood of sitting in government benches with Pakistan Peoples Party. Sharif took them in confidence for his 5th August meeting with PPP Leader Asif Ali Zardari. He later told journalists in a press conference that PML-N would talk about the restoration of deposed judges in the Nawaz-Zardari meeting. He added that the meeting was very crucial as its results would decide about the fate of coalition gocernment.

Same day Asif Ali Zardari also held a meeting with his senior members and discussed with them about the expected dialogues in the forthcoming Nawaz-Zardari meeting in Islamabad. Aftee the PPP meeting, Law Minister, Mr. Farooq Naek gave a very strange statement on the issue of judges’ restoration. He said that the deposed judges had been asked to take their owths again by the President Musharraf as there was no other constitutional way to resolve this issue. This statement showed clearly that PPP and Musharraf are the same and PPP leadership is not sincere in the restoration of judges. Everyone knows that the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry and his fellow deposed judges will never take the owth by President Musharraf.

This statement has put the success of ono-to-one meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari in doubt. If it happens, it will be very alarming situation for the country and people will see new political crisis.
