In the past Pakistani people used to live in a great social way. They had a wonderful neighbourhood system. They knew who lived in their vicinity. At the same time they were always present to share others’ happiness and grief. Besides promoting love and care, this system was a very good tool of security. It was not possible for criminal people to get settled in such settlements where people had strong social network.
Unfortunately today people are so much busy and self centred that they don’t know even about their next door neighbours. They don’t have time to see each other. This behaviour has supported the terrorism. Now it’s very easy for the terrorists to get settled in any modern locality as nobody bothers about it. I would request the people of Pakistan to kindly think over this issue very seriously and revive their great neighbourhood system which will help in eliminating the terrorism that is our common challenge today. I am certain that this will help in discouraging the terrorists as they will be easily identified and arrested.

Shakti: A clash of two giants
Shakti can be regarded as a memorable movie from Bollywood. This is the only film made in which two great superstars Dileep Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan were cast. There is no other movie in which they both performed against one another. Story is about a small family. Dileep is Husband and Rakhee Gulzar is wife. Amitabh Bachchan is their only son. Dileep Sahib has played role of an honest policeman, who is too much loyal with his department. Amitabh Bachchan feels that his father does not love him and always supports the law extra ordinarily. The relation between the two is main root of the story. Samita Patel has played rols of Amitabh’s beloved wife. This is a must see movie as you will find both Dileep Kumar and Amitabh at their peak. However Indian Filmfare award for best actor was awarded to Dileep Kumar on his performance in this movie. Climax of the movie is just awesome when Amitabh dies in his father’s arms who had fired bullets on his own son in order to perform his duty honestly. Dialogues between the two giants in that scene are one of the best in the Indian film history. Songs of the movie are also very good. It is a treat to watch this movie….

IDP Camp in Mardan, NWFP-Pakistan
Internally dislocated people (IDP) is the name given to those who have left their homes in the areas under Army operation in Pakistan. These people have given this great sacrifice in the hope that one day our great country will come out of crisis. They don’t have bathrooms, kitchens, pots, fans etc. which are the basic requirements for any human being. It is the time when we can prove to the whole world that we are not terrorists and we can help our needy brothers and sisters living in the shelter camps. If time allows, we must try to visit these camps so that we can feel the pain by viewing IDP. We pray to Allah to help us in this time of problem and give us the unity so that we can come out of this crisis at our earliest and IDP can return to their homes.

Pakistan and France sign nuclear technology transfer deal
After a long time Pakistani nation heard some good news on Friday 15th May 2009 that French Government has offered Pakistan transferring of civil nuclear technology. French Government announced this pact during the official visit of President Asif Ali Zardari. It is indeed a great gesture from any of the European country for Pakistan in this period when the Country is facing great shortfall of electricity. USA already has signed similar type of agreemetn with India. It will help us coming out of long duration electricity load shedding, and people of Pakistan will come out of mental stress. Internationally, it will improve Pakistan’s foreign relations with otehr countries as well.

Once again Pakistan Army is facing a very big challenge. Rather I will call it as the biggest challenge in the history of Pakistani nation. Pakistan Army is fighting against the terrorists in Swat Valley. These terrorist have made the life of people very difficult. They blow up schools of female children. They kidnap foreign delegates and also attack Police check posts and convoys. Due to the heavy firing between Army and the terrorists, thousands of people have migrated from Swat. They are provided temporary shelters (camps) in Peshswar and other cities of NWFP.
This is indeed very sad that Pakistan Army has to fight against their fellow citizens, but their courage must be highly appreciated that they are determined to eliminate the disturbing elements. I fully support Pak Army in their noble mission and wish them a great victory that will flourish the long lasting peace in Pakistan.

I belong to Lahore basically, which is the second largest city of Pakistan. It is the capital of Punjab Province and has a population of around 9 million people. Due to my job in UAE I have been living in Dubai for last 1.5 years. I really miss Lahore, which is a cultural place where you find very good restaurants, lush green parks, crowded bazaars and arts centres.
Recently I was in Lahore for 10 days. I was amazed to see some new things that have given a new look to this great city. I enjoyed a lot at Gloria Jeans Coffees outlet in Defence Housing Authority. It is an Australian brand. The way the management has decorated the outlet is highly appreciable. I also got very much impressed by the recent development in Lahore. Shahbaz Sharif (Chief Minister) has done a great job and roads of Lahore have been improved a lot. Due to this, now there is hardly any dust in the air. Other good point is that the new traffic police is doing a great job in controlling the traffic of this metropolitan city. Citizens of Lahore are very happy from their attitude and performance.
Rescue 1122 is the service for which we must appreciate the former Chief Minister, Mr. Pervaiz Ellahi. This emergency service responds on emergencies and reach immediately where their is fire or someone’s life is in danger. Their good conditioned ambulances and fire brigades are helping the people of Lahore.
Hypermarkets are also opening their big branches in the city and people of Lahore are ready to welcome such new developments. I am hopeful that insha Allah very soon Pakistan will come out of terrorism and Lahore will once again be a hot spot for the tourists.

Dubai and other UAE Emirates have number of hypermarkets, where millions of people come for shopping everyday. Hypermarket is an ultra large supermarket, where you can get almost everything that is in your mind. Also there are many brands that give you the facility of choice and price comparison.
In Pakistan, recently two groups MAKRO and METRO have opened such types of markets. In Lahore, last week I visited a MAKRO outlet. I was amazed to see the level of service and interior decoration. First time in Pakistan, ramp escalators are provided for taking trolleys to the parking area. I spoke to the HSE Manager of hypermarket about various issues. Gentlman told me that the company was earning 10 million Rupees per day from each facility, two in Lahore and three in Karachi. He added that after two months entry will be permitted only to the card owners. Cards will be issued to the families after the cross purchase limit of 5000 Rupees in 2 months.
I commented that it was not good to restrict the customers by issuing such cards. he replied me that the management wanted to keep the environment a good one so that the elderly people can enjoy shopping without having crowd of people.
I am very happy to see such things coming to Pakistan. They will not only facilitate people but will also educate them. On the other side, such facilities will generate lot of job opportunities for the youngsters.
